Obverse description Facing bearded royal bust depicted in a highly stylized, flat Romanesque manner, wearing a crown adorned with pendilia hanging at either side of the face. The effigy is rendered with large dot eyes, a prominent nose, and a wide mouth, framed by beaded lines representing the hair and beard. The bust occupies the central field, surrounded by the circular Latin legend. The overall artistic style is characteristic of late 11th-century German hammered coinage, with bold, schematic features typical of the Regensburg mint.
