| Obverse description | A plain cross extending to the inner beaded circle divides the field into four quarters, each containing a single pellet. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the retrograde or irregular royal legend arranged around the periphery. The hammered fabric imparts a characteristic irregular flan. The overall style is consistent with Ottonian-Salian imperial coinage of the late 11th century. |
