Obverse description Frontal crowned bust of Emperor Henry III depicted in schematic Ottonian style, the crown rendered with a prominent central finial. The imperial effigy is shown facing, with stylized facial features and regal vestments indicated by simple linear engraving. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading within a beaded or plain border. The overall execution is characteristic of mid-eleventh-century German episcopal mint coinage, with a flat, slightly irregular flan typical of hammered silver pfennige.
