Reverse description A stylised architectural facade representing a church or palatial building, depicted as a round-arched structure surmounted by a cross, consistent with the temple or church motifs standard on Augsburg episcopal and royal coinage of the Salian period. The arch encloses a smaller arched opening, evoking a two-storey ecclesiastical facade. The surrounding Latin legend identifies the mint city and is distributed around the architectural device. The overall design is executed in flat, linear relief typical of mid-eleventh century hammered coinage from the Augsburg mint.
