Obverse description Central field displays a rampant lion passant to the left within a raised inner circle, rendered in the bold, simplified style characteristic of Lusignan Cyprus coinage. The lion, serving as the heraldic emblem of the Kingdom of Cyprus, is depicted with a crowned head and stylized mane, its forepaws raised. A Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, partially visible along the periphery of the irregularly struck flan. The outer border is defined by a beaded or cable-pattern ring.
