Obverse description Central field dominated by a plain cross extending to the inner border, dividing the field into four quadrants. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by the circular legend HEINRICVS DVX in crude, irregularly spaced Latin characters. The lettering and overall design reflect the primitive die-cutting style characteristic of late tenth-century German hammered coinage, with slightly uneven flan and bold relief elements.
