Obverse description Central cross with cantons containing two pellets (bezants) and an annulet arranged in the quarters, all within a circular Latin legend. The die-cut lettering is characteristic of late tenth-century Bavarian hammered coinage, with the inscription running continuously around the periphery of the flan.
