| Obverse description | Crude crowned bust of Emperor Henry II facing forward, rendered in low relief typical of early medieval hammered coinage. Abbreviated Latin inscription flanks the effigy on either side of the bust. The portrait is schematic and stylized, characteristic of Ottonian-Salian die-cutting conventions, with the crown rendered as a simple diadem. The irregular flan exhibits surface undulation common to hand-struck silver deniers of the period. |
