Reverse description A bold central cross divides the field into four quarters, each canton containing a pellet or bezant, forming the characteristic cross cantonnée design of Carolingian-derived coinage. The cross arms are rendered in a broad, chunky style consistent with early eleventh-century hammered technique. The legend HAEINRICVS, referencing Emperor Henry II, runs around the periphery within a beaded border, asserting imperial authority alongside the episcopal issue. The overall composition is typical of Lotharingian episcopal deniers struck under imperial suzerainty during this period.
