| Obverse description | Crude draped bust of Bishop Frederick facing left, rendered in the archaic Romanesque style typical of 12th-century episcopal coinage. The head is adorned with a beaded mitre or crown, visible above the brow. The surrounding legend is irregularly spaced around the periphery of the flan. The overall strike is characteristic of hand-hammered billon coinage of the period, with the design partially weak at the edges due to the irregular flan. |
