| Reverse description | Two lions are depicted confronting one another at centre, each with its tail drawn up and through between its hind legs, their heads turned to face the viewer in full face, rendered in the bold, flat relief characteristic of Swabian-Franconian hammered pfennig coinage. Beneath this confronted pair, an eagle displayed to sinister is positioned between two decorative curls or volutes. The inner design area is bounded by a pearl band, and the entire reverse is framed by a crossed or quatrefoil border adorned with pearls around the outer circumference. |
