Reverse description Central device consists of a cross pattée with a dot or pellet in each of the four angles formed by the arms, a standard motif on French feudal deniers of the period. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in uncial characters reads VRBS BOLONIE, identifying the city of Boulogne as the place of issue.
