Reverse description Central field displays a cross pattée flanked by two S-shaped ornamental devices, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads * PETRAGORIS S S, referencing the county seat of Périgueux, disposed around the outer field in Latin capitals consistent with feudal Périgordine coinage of the late Capetian period. The dies show the characteristic irregularity of hand-struck hammered billon issues.
