Obverse description Crowned bust of Emperor Conrad II facing right, depicted in a stylized Ottonian manner typical of early 11th-century imperial coinage. The effigy displays a diademed crown with prominent cross ornament and pendant lappets, with facial features rendered in low relief. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the Latin imperial legend disposed around the periphery between the inner and outer rims. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of hammered silver deniers of this period.
