Obverse description A bold plain cross with a pellet at the center occupies the field, dividing it into four quadrants each containing a pellet in the angle. The cross is surrounded by a beaded inner circle, beyond which the legend runs in the outer margin. The design is characteristic of Ottonian-Salian hammered pfennig coinage, with an irregular flan typical of the period.
