| Obverse description | Facing bust of Duke Conrad I of Brno depicted in a schematic, Romanesque style within a beaded inner circle, holding a long cross staff before him. The effigy is rendered in low relief typical of 11th-century Bohemian hammered coinage. A Latin legend reading CHVONRATVS encircles the central motif between the inner circle and the irregular coin edge. The surrounding border is composed of a characteristic zigzag or pellet-and-line ornamental band. |
