Reverse description Central field features a bold Gothic cross with elaborate decorative terminations, flanked by heraldic elements typical of the Gerona municipal coinage. The cross divides the field into four quarters, with ornamental flourishes occupying each quadrant. A circular Latin legend surrounding the design reads +CIVITAS·GERUNDA, identifying the issuing city. The lettering and overall design exhibit the irregular, somewhat crude workmanship characteristic of hammered billon issues produced at the Gerona mint during the reign of Charles I.
