Reverse description A short cross pattée occupies the central field, its splayed arms each terminating in a small pellet or ball at the tip, giving the cross a distinctive decorative character. A small star or mullet is placed in each of the four angles between the arms of the cross, filling the field in a balanced heraldic composition. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded circle, with the mint name rendered in the surrounding legend. The style is consistent with Romanesque episcopal coinage of the Utrecht mint, circa 1099–1112.
