| Reverse description | A plain cross with broad arms divides the central field into four quadrants, enclosed within a beaded or linear inner circle. The arms of the cross extend to the inner circle, a typical layout for Carolingian-influenced feudal deniers. The surrounding Latin legend, reading clockwise, identifies the mint place of Châteaulin. The flan is irregularly shaped and shows characteristic hammer-struck surface texture consistent with early medieval workshop production. |
