Obverse description Central long cross dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a pellet or annulet. The name BRVNO is inscribed horizontally across the horizontal arm of the cross, reading left to right. Small star-like or trefoil ornaments appear in the angles of the cross. The coin is struck within a beaded border typical of early medieval German episcopal coinage, with the irregular flan characteristic of hand-hammered production.
