Reverse description As is characteristic of all bracteate coinage, the reverse presents an incuse mirror image of the obverse design, being the natural result of the single-die hammered striking technique applied to a thin silver flan. No independent reverse design or legend is present; the sunken relief faithfully reproduces the crowned royal bust and flanking ornamental elements seen on the obverse, though in negative and with softer definition.
