Additional information

Ottokar II ruled Moravia as margrave before inheriting Bohemia in 1253, and his subsequent territorial ambitions — eventually stretching his domain from Silesia to the Adriatic — meant his administration was perpetually financing military campaigns and political consolidation. These thin, single-sided bracteates were a practical product of regional minting rights, their fragility in circulation ensuring few survived without crumpling. Cach 910 is among the smaller module strikings attributed to his Moravian issues, distinguished from the larger denominations by die size rather than any change in silver fineness.
