Obverse description Uniface bracteate struck in thin silver sheet displaying a crowned facing bust of King Ottokar II of Bohemia in high relief at centre, the royal effigy flanked on each side by a rampant lion passant, all contained within a raised inner border ring. The crown is rendered with prominent points, and the facial features are boldly modelled in the Romanesque-Gothic transitional style characteristic of mid-13th-century Bohemian bracteate coinage. The field beyond the central design is plain, with the coin's characteristic concave-convex profile resulting from the single-die hammering technique.
