| Obverse description | Central field features the heraldic lion of Brunswick passant to the left, depicted in high relief with schematic detailing of the mane, haunches, and raised forepaw, characteristic of Ottonian bracteate die-work. The beast stands upon a hatched or stepped ground line, conveying a stylized landscape base.
