| Obverse description | Single-sided bracteate struck on a thin flan, depicting a standing princely figure in frontal view, holding a long scepter or lance in the left hand and raising the right hand. The figure is rendered in the schematic Romanesque style typical of Polish bracteates of the twelfth century. To the upper right of the figure appears the letter M, likely an initial for Mieszko, serving as an identifying attribute of the issuing duke. A beaded inner border encircles the central device, itself enclosed within the irregular outer edge of the flan. |
