| Reverse description | Incuse mirror image of the obverse, as is characteristic of bracteate coinage struck from a single die on a thin silver flan. The reverse shows the recessed, reversed impression of the standing ducal figure with outstretched arms, with areas of green cuprite patina visible across the surface. The flan edges are irregular, consistent with hand-cut medieval production. No separate reverse design or legend is present. |

| Additional information |
Mieszko III ruled Greater Poland twice — expelled in 1177 by a baronial revolt that forced him into nearly two decades of political exile before he recovered his position. These thin, fragile bracteates were struck during a period when the fragmentation of the Piast dynasty into competing duchies made consistent coin production nearly impossible. Gniezno and Kalisz both operated as minting centers under his authority, and distinguishing output between the two remains unresolved in the literature.
At 0.16 g, losses from even minor handling are permanent on bracteate fabric.
