| Obverse description | Central field depicts two facing figures seated on either side of a tall vertical staff or lance, likely representing a ruler and an attendant or two courtly figures in a heraldic composition. A small dotted ornament or symbol appears above the staff toward the upper left. The scene is divided from the inscription below by a horizontal line, beneath which the legend appears in the exergue. The overall style is characteristic of Romanesque die-engraving of the Piast period, with schematic but expressive human forms rendered in low relief typical of thin bracteate coinage. |
