Reverse description As a bracteate, the reverse presents the incuse mirror image of the obverse design, showing the faint impressed outlines of the shield and surrounding beaded border as pushed through from the obverse strike. The surface is characteristically convex and shows no independent design, consistent with the single-die bracteate striking technique used for this denomination.
