Obverse description Full-length frontal effigy of Emperor Henry VI enthroned in majesty, robed in imperial vestments, holding a fleur-de-lis scepter in the right hand and a globus cruciger in the left. Two stars flank the figure in the field, with a small circle appearing in the upper right field. The legend +HIVIHVCN IDN runs along the periphery in Latin characters. The design is executed in the characteristic thin, single-sided relief of the bracteate tradition, typical of Thuringian mint production of the late twelfth century.
