Obverse description Within a raised beaded inner circle, a lion passant to the right, rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner with prominent scaled or pellet-decorated body and a boldly curled tail extending upward. A small fleur-de-lis or lily motif appears in the lower field beneath the lion. The surrounding area between the inner circle and the raised rim bears a partial or largely effaced legend.
