| Obverse description | Bracteate type depicting a frontal enthroned effigy of Bishop Heinrich von Tanne in full pontifical vestments, wearing a mitre and holding a crozier in the left hand and a book in the right hand. The figure is rendered in a characteristic Romanesque stylized manner, with hieratic frontality and flattened drapery folds typical of mid-thirteenth-century episcopal bracteate coinage. The central design is enclosed within a raised inner circle, itself surrounded by a beaded outer border. The abbreviated episcopal legend is distributed in the field around the enthroned figure. The thin silver flan and single-sided strike are consistent with the bracteate tradition of the Upper Rhine and Lake Constance region. |
