| Obverse lettering | FRIDERICVS IMPERATOR ET SEMP AV (Translation: Frederick, emperor always august.) |
| Reverse description | As a bracteate coin struck from a single thin silver flan, the reverse presents the incuse mirror image of the obverse design. The enthroned imperial effigy, crown, lily sceptre, and orb are all visible in negative relief, with the surrounding Latin legend appearing in reverse. No independent reverse design or lettering is present, as is characteristic of the bracteate coinage tradition of twelfth-century Germany. |
