Obverse description Shielded four-fold arms of Baden-Baden centrally placed, with the inscription divided to either side of the shield. A three-letter inscription appears above the shield, the entire design enclosed within a beaded circle. The bracteate format results in a thin, uniface flan with the design struck in low relief typical of late 16th-century German Pfennig coinage.
