| Obverse description | Bracteate type struck on a single thin flan, bearing a frontal bust of Duke Bolesław Mieszkowic at center, depicted crowned with a stylized diadem and wearing a draped garment with a beaded neckline. The ruler's face is rendered in a schematic Romanesque style, with a dotted border encircling the design. The legend BOLESLAUS runs around the periphery in Latin characters, interspersed with decorative pellets and small star-like ornaments. The overall composition is characteristic of late 12th-century Piast dynastic coinage from the Kuyavian mints. |
