Obverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Moritz (St. Maurice), patron saint of Magdeburg, standing within a plain circular border. The saint is depicted holding a flag or lance in his right hand and bearing a quartered heraldic shield at his left side. The figure is rendered in the flat, stylized relief characteristic of late medieval German bracteate coinage, with minimal background detail in the open field.
