| Obverse description | Facing bust of Archbishop Adalbert I, shown slightly to the left, in elaborate pontifical vestments richly decorated with pellets and geometric ornament, his head surmounted by a mitre-like crown. To his right, a winged angel faces him and extends an arm in an embracing gesture, rendered in Romanesque style with stylized drapery. A crozier appears to the right of the composition, with a pellet above. The figures are enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by a cable or rope border, with remnants of a Latin legend distributed around the outer field. |
