Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a frontal bust of a crowned ruler seated on a throne, rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner; the figure appears to hold objects in each hand, possibly a sceptre and an orb or book. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle in the field, partially legible on this irregular flan. The overall design is characteristic of late 11th-century Bohemian hammered deniers.
