Obverse description Central field dominated by a large annulet formed by a beaded circle enclosing a pellet at centre, flanked by additional annulets and pellet ornaments arranged in a cross-like pattern. The design is executed in a primitive Romanesque hammered style characteristic of twelfth-century Polish bracteate-related coinage. A partial legend reading BOLEZLA runs along the upper periphery within a beaded border. The flan is irregular and thin, typical of medieval hammered silver deniers of the Piast dynasty.
