Obverse description Central field features a frontal standing figure of Duke Boleslaus II, depicted in long robes with arms extended, rendered in the flat, stylized manner characteristic of early Bohemian hammered coinage. The figure is enclosed within a circular inner border. The surrounding legend reads BOLESLAVS DVX in rough Latin capitals, distributed around the periphery of the coin. The die-cutting exhibits the bold, irregular strokes typical of late tenth-century Bohemian workshop production. Small decorative crosses or pellets appear in the field between the legend letters.
