| Obverse description | Facing stylized human mask or head in the center of the field, depicted with large circular eyes, a crescent-shaped nose, and a downturned mouth, rendered in a primitive Romanesque style typical of early Bohemian coinage. The face is enclosed within a plain inner circle. The surrounding field is filled with angular pseudo-letters or decorative elements arranged in imitation of a legend, set within a beaded outer border. |

Boleslaus II consolidated ecclesiastical authority in Bohemia more aggressively than any of his predecessors — it was under his rule that the Prague bishopric was established in 973, separating Bohemia from the diocese of Regensburg and marking a decisive step toward an independent Bohemian church. Coinage issued in his name reflects that ambition for legitimacy on the broader European stage.
Cach 84 is among the better-documented types in the early Přemyslid series, though die variation within the reign is considerable and attribution of individual specimens can be contested.
