Reverse description The reverse displays a stylized architectural or symbolic motif consisting of a triangular gable or pediment form above a horizontal bar, beneath which appears a further series of crossing or diagonal strokes, evoking a schematic representation of a church facade or city gate — an allusion to Prague as the issuing city. The legend PRAGA CIVITAS is distributed around the circumference in crude Latin majuscules on the irregular hammered flan. The execution is characteristically rough, with letters of uneven size and spacing, consistent with Bohemian denier coinage of the Přemyslid period. Small pellets or wedge-shaped fillers appear in the field between legend elements.
