| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized hand holding a sword with the blade pointing downward, flanked by small crosses disposed symmetrically around it, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding annular border is decorated with a series of radiating fleurs-de-lis or foliate terminals alternating with pellets and small crosses in a characteristic Bohemian early medieval style. The overall composition is rendered in bold, high relief typical of hammered coinage of the late tenth century. The inscription BOLESLAVS appears in retrograde or partly garbled Latin lettering distributed around the periphery of the coin. |
