Obverse description Central field depicts a frontal standing figure, identified as Duke Boleslaus II, robed in long draped garments and holding a sword or sceptre in each hand, rendered in the schematic Romanesque style typical of late 10th-century Bohemian coinage. The figure is enclosed within a plain inner circle. Surrounding the inner circle, a Latin legend in irregular uncial letterforms reads BOILEHZLΛIV DVX, identifying the issuer as the duke, interspersed with decorative star or cross motifs along the outer border.
