| Obverse description | Central cross pattée dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a small pellet at the arm terminals, with an annulet at the center intersection. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by a circular legend reading BOLESLAV DUX in crude Latin characters distributed around the circumference. The design is characteristic of early Bohemian hammered coinage, with an irregular flan and slightly uneven strike typical of tenth-century die-work. |
