Obverse description Central field bearing a cross pattée with pellets disposed in each angle, surrounded by a beaded inner circle. The marginal legend reads BOLEZLAV DVX in Latin characters, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The overall style is characteristic of early Bohemian hammered coinage, with a somewhat irregular flan and bold, if crudely rendered, die-cut lettering typical of 10th-century Central European minting practice.
