Reverse description An eight-petalled flower or star rosette, with elongated pointed petals radiating symmetrically from a central boss, set within a raised inner circle with a beaded border. The surrounding legend occupies the outer field between the inner circle and the irregular coin rim. The motif is characteristic of the coinage of the Counts of Forcalquier and serves as the principal heraldic device of this issue.
