Reverse description The reverse presents the mint name PAPIA (Pavia) arranged in two horizontal lines across the central field, a layout derived from Carolingian denier prototypes. The lettering, though worn and irregular due to the hammered technique, remains legible as a two-line inscription within the flat field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the field, identifying the co-ruler Adalbert with the royal title. The flan is characteristically uneven at the edges, consistent with hand-cut planchets of the period.
