Obverse description Central field dominated by a tall vertical cross with a horizontal bar, dividing the design into four quadrants. The letter 'B' appears prominently in the upper right quadrant, flanked by additional letters of the royal name BELA arranged around the cross arms. Two rampant or confronted lion figures occupy the lateral quadrants, rendered in a crude but vigorous Romanesque style characteristic of late 12th-century Hungarian coinage. The composition is tightly confined within an irregular flan, with the hammered technique producing slightly uneven relief across the field.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description The reverse presents a large Romanesque monogram, formed by the letter 'R' combined with an 'x' element, set centrally within a raised inner circle or ring border. A small pellet appears to the upper right of the monogram. The monogram, conventionally read as 'Rx' (Rex, meaning King), is boldly executed in the primitive hammered style typical of Árpád-dynasty medieval Hungarian deniers. The surrounding field is plain and unadorned, with the irregular coin edge reflecting the hand-struck nature of the issue.
