Obverse description Central design featuring a crescent open to the right enclosing a multi-petalled rosette or star motif, set within a raised circular border. The entire central device is surrounded by a broad outer band bearing a continuous undulating vine or foliate scroll pattern in relief. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and bold, if somewhat crude, relief typical of hammered medieval bracteate-style deniers from the Eger (Cheb) region.
