Obverse description Schematic head in the Blésoise-Chartraise style facing right, rendered in a simplified barbarian manner typical of feudal French deniers. The effigy is flanked by an annulet to the left and a crescent to the right, with a crosslet at the center of the head. Three pikes and two pellets are arranged below the bust, all within a beaded inner circle. The design is characteristic of anonymous feudal coinage of the County of Perche from the late 12th to early 13th century.
